Markus Amon & Hannes Gröber: Extreme mountaineers

Even under extreme conditions on the highest mountain on earth, we were able to rely on Lenz products, for example on the approach, where we survived the sometimes very long daily stages with the help of the compression socks 3.0 Merino. The performance wear 3.0 compression that we wear again and again did its part, optimal wearing comfort paired with ideal moisture regulation made the stages in terms of clothing much easier for us.

During the mountain stages, even in this year's very adverse weather conditions, especially in the high camps, the heat socks 5.0 toe cap® paired with the powerful lithium pack rcB 1800 gave us the warmth we often needed in the toe area. With temperatures around minus 30 degrees and wind speeds in excess of 60 km/h, it is extremely important to protect your toes from frostbite at this altitude. With the alpine style we use, ie an ascent without porters and bottled oxygen, the risk of frostbite is even greater. At high altitude and in the low-oxygen environment, the body is hardly able to generate enough heat of its own for all body regions. The "sock heater" helped us and definitely protected us from cold injuries. To protect the batteries from the low temperature, we carried them in our trouser pockets with the help of the 80cm extension cord, thus enabling them to "function" over a longer period of time even at low temperatures.

To protect our fingers, the heat gloves were our constant companions. Hardly any other glove would be able to provide or maintain the necessary warmth in this cold environment. Thanks to Lenz products, we returned from this adventure on the highest mountain in the world healthy and above all without cold injuries/frostbite!
