Fritjof Kaiser - extreme biker in any weather

I have been riding an electric motorcycle (ZERO DSR) for 2 years and about 20,000 km a year. I don't have a season. The machine is used for commuting as well as for touring. everyday. No matter what the weather, no matter what time of day or night. Being on the road electrically means: gliding along quickly, agilely and quietly and merging with the machine and nature. Motorcycling in its purest form – simply enjoy.

You are all the more dependent on good clothing that is not only functional, but also comfortable to wear. During the cold season in particular, temperatures in the single digits are often around freezing. So leave the machine in the garage and get in the car? No! Because right now, riding a motorcycle shows its special charms. I don't care about the cold at all since I've been wearing Lenz thermal clothing.

Apart from protective clothing, I used to not wear special thermal clothing. I then just put on several layers. After an hour at the latest, however, my hands and feet got cold and driving became a feat of strength: reactions decreased noticeably and I often came back home with blue lips. Since I've been on the road with special thermal clothing, I've been extremely relaxed and almost like in summer. At first, however, I was skeptical that the thermal clothing would really work. So here are my experiences with the Lenz products in detail under tough conditions.

HEAT GLOVE 3.0 MEN
The glove is comfortable to wear and gives you a pretty good grip when driving. When the outside temperature is up to 10 degrees, you don't even have to switch it on, it keeps you nice and warm. Below 10 degrees you can then activate your desired temperature by choosing from three available heating levels. The selected heating levels light up via LED segments, which looks very futuristic, especially in the dark. The gloves are softly lined on the inside so that your hands feel comfortable right away. The glove also withstands heavy rain. Of course, you also have to pay attention to the impregnation here. The electronics are not damaged in the rain, I have already been able to test this several times. Compared to heated grips, the main advantage of Lenz gloves is that the heat is dissipated on the individual fingers and not just on the ball of the thumb. So the fingers always remain responsive. Just great to be on the road with it.

HEAT VEST 1.0 MEN
The vest primarily warms the lower back area and is worn as a "second layer". It generates a pleasant warmth, the intensity of which can be adjusted in 10 levels using the free app. I benefit from the warmth of the vest especially when cornering, where you have to be very careful about how you're pushing the machine or shifting your weight. You can't afford a cold upper body with little mobility. With the thermal vest, the muscles stay nice and warm and flexible and cornering maneuvers can be performed cleanly. With the fashionable cut of the vest, it is almost a shame to only wear it under your motorcycle clothing. And in fact I like to wear them to the office in autumn. 

HEAT SOCK 5.0 TOE CAP
If your feet get cold on longer tours, you will notice this in slower and jerky reactions when braking and shifting gears. In addition, you don't like to shift your weight with cold feet, you ride "more angular and stiffer". All things that a motorcyclist should actually avoid. Thanks to the heated socks from Lenz, this problem is now a thing of the past. Comfortably warm feet are guaranteed and let you enjoy driving for several hours. The socks are very comfortable to wear and the heating elements on the toes are not noticeable when wearing them. The socks are knee-length and can be worn comfortably in motorcycle boots. Here, too, you can regulate the intensity of the heat emission in 10 levels via the app.

Quality:
All tested products have now driven more than 8000km in cold or even freezing temperatures and still look like new. The socks didn't get any holes, the leather of the gloves is still nice and supple and soft, the heated vest is still shapely. And the most important thing: everything still works perfectly, even after several wash cycles (rain and laundry drum). Thus, the initially perceived product quality kept what it promised.

Why spring?
When I was looking for suitable thermal clothing, the Lenz products immediately caught my eye. There seems to be a particular emphasis on performance and quality.
