Martina Fischer: icy shooting in Iceland
Last March our film team was shooting in Iceland and Greenland. Since March is still deep winter in both countries, we were very worried and excited whether we would all be able to stand the cold, since of course we also had to spend the whole day outside. But thanks to the Lenz company, who supported us with their great heat products, our worries were all completely unfounded.
We had Heat Socks, Heat West, Heat Gloves and the Heat Bandage with us. Our cameramen and our make-up artist were particularly happy about the heat gloves 3.0, as they had to work very carefully with their hands in the cold. They always had warm fingers and the cameramen were able to operate the camera without any problems and the make-up artist was able to apply the make-up smoothly. Our actor was very happy about the heat vest 1.0, because he had to endure the film for a long time in the ice-cold wind with a relaxed facial expression. But thanks to Lenz none of that was a problem for him!
The heat Bandage 1.0 has also done a very good job - however, we have misused it somewhat. Normally you can wear the bandage on your back and thus comfortably warm your kidneys and back area. In Greenland, however, our camera batteries benefited from the heat bandage. Since the cold usually reduces battery life a lot, we simply wrapped the batteries in the heat bandages, which made our shooting a lot easier. The batteries therefore had their normal runtime despite temperatures averaging -15°C and we were able to continue our filming without any problems.
Thanks to the great heat socks 1.0 slim fit, the entire team had warm feet and nothing stood in the way of our arctic adventures, such as driving a dog sled, climbing in an ice cave or kayaking in the Arctic Ocean.
The lithium packs of the products are super easy to charge and last all day depending on the heating level. It's also practical that you can use and swap the same batteries for the socks, bandages and vests for all of them, simply attach them with the push button and it'll get warm. The entire team was very enthusiastic about the Heat Products and we will definitely not leave the house without them in the future when it's cold.
Many thanks again to the Lenz company for supporting us so well in our arctic adventure!
